Brandied Grape Preserve


  • 1 1/3 cups(335 ml) red wine vinegar
  • 1 ½ cups (375 ml) red wine
  • ¾ cups (185 ml) sugar
  • 3 cloves
  • 4 sticks cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp (45 ml) brandy
  • 2 lbs (1 kg) grapes, seeded

how to preserve grapes

  1. Bring vinegar, wine, sugar, cloves and cinnamon sticks to a boil. simmer for 15 minutes or until syrupy.
  2. Remove cinnamon sticks. Add brandy. Pour over grapes. Put into warm, sterilized jars. Seal.
NOTE: Serve Grape Preserve with terrines, game birds and venison.
MAKES ABOUT 4 CUPS (1 L)
